Quasar #17-18 Originally released in 1990 Written by Mark Gruenwald Art by Mike Manley (#17), Greg Capullo (#18) I don't know anything about Quasar, but my brother recommended that I should read this issue. (It was a pleasant surprise to see that Mark Gruenwald wrote this; I liked his Squadron Supreme series and what little I've read of his Captain America run) Funnily enough, this issue has very little to do with Quasar himself, as it's a race to determine the fastest person on Earth, and Quasar doesn't qualify. Instead, the focus is on the member of the Eternals known as Makkari, who is humiliated by the one who set up the race (the Elder Of The Universe known as The Runner - apparently, there are more Elders Of The Universe than I thought, as I figured it was just the six who were entrusted with the Infinity Gems) and is eager (almost desperate) to prove himself. YuYu Hakusho #13-20 Originally released in 1991 Written by Yoshihiro Togashi Art by Yoshihiro Togashi Yusuke Urameshi is dead, but he's doing whatever he can to fix that.  With the help of his guide Botan, he's trying to do good deeds as a ghost in order to earn the right to return to his body.  However, the first two chapters that I'm reading focus more on his sort-of girlfriend Keiko and their budding relationship. (Yusuke isn't exactly the type to talk about his feelings, let alone admit them, and the two are very different, with Keiko being polite and studious while Yusuke's a delinquent) When an arsonist tries to burn down Yusuke's family home with Yusuke's body (stuck between life and death) still inside, Keiko risks life and limb to save Yusuke.  Yusuke can possess specific people (if they're spiritually sensitive or unconscious), but nobody like that is nearby, so he's forced to sacrifice his accumulated good deeds in order to get Keiko out o...

 Spider-Man and the X-Men #1-6 Originally released in 2014 Written by Elliott Kalan Art by Marco Failla While I've read this series before, I remember it being funny and it's the source of a much-memed panel.  Plus it's been a while, so I figure I'd go back to it.  Wolverine is dead (shockingly, it doesn't stick), so he needs a substitute at the Jean Grey School.  Naturally, he calls on Spider-Man.  The rest of the X-Men generally don't like Spider-Man. (which probably plays a part in why Wolverine picked Spidey specifically) The book gets off to a good start with Spider-Man facing off against the unfortunately named "Unus the Untouchable".  I'm aware that he's been around since the very early days of the X-Men, but there's something about that name that I just find hilarious.
